As a CT Technologist on the Mobile Stroke Ambulance, you will play a critical role in responding to stroke patients in a 911 emergency setting, delivering advanced mobile imaging technology to the scene. This position offers a unique level of autonomy, requiring independent decision-making, adaptability, and critical thinking in time-sensitive, high-stakes stroke care. You will be at the forefront of innovation, helping to shape the future of mobile stroke care and expanding access to life-saving treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex mobile CT imaging under direct supervision in the pre-hospital environment, producing diagnostic images of human anatomy and vascular structures in real-time stroke evaluations.
- Operate cutting-edge mobile CT technology with expert proficiency, including post-processing/3D workstations and power injectors for IV contrast administration.
- Ensure accurate image archival and verification of complete studies on the PACS System, supporting real-time stroke decision-making.
- Collect and document critical imaging and procedural data to support ongoing research and performance improvement in mobile stroke care.
- Collaborate with EMS teams, emergency physicians, and nursing staff to deliver rapid, coordinated stroke treatment in the field.
- Demonstrate a high level of autonomy, utilizing clinical expertise to adapt imaging protocols and troubleshoot equipment in dynamic, unpredictable environments.
- Support innovation and clinical research, contributing to data-driven advancements in mobile imaging and stroke intervention.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality while maintaining high standards of radiation safety and sterile techniques in a pre-hospital setting.
- Travel to various healthcare sites associated with the Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) program, including Westwood, Torrance, Long Beach, and the San Fernando Valley.

Salary Range: $49.73 – $65.56 hourly
- CRT Radiography – required
- ARRT (R) – required
- ARRT (CT) licensure – required
- Venipuncture certificate – required
- Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program Graduate – required
- A minimum of 3 years of CT experience – highly desired and preferred
- Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree – preferred
- Ability to distinguish between types of medical procedures and diagnoses
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of medical and scientific terminology
- Strong detail and deadline orientation
- Understanding of human anatomy and pathology
- Understanding of excel and patient databases (redcap)
