The Staff Research Associate I position will assist with in vivo testing and data collection, and will perform drug dosing, animal husbandry, animal surgeries, behavioral pain testing, and molecular work related to the investigation of migraine pathophysiology in rodent models. The employee will also assist in clinical research studies that include developing educational materials for migraine awareness, interacting with patients to collect ultrasound measurements using a transcranial doppler machine, and analyzing data from large academic health records. The employee will prepare drug formulations, develop new experimental designs, perform experiments, and effectively present experimental results in recurring laboratory meetings. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment while managing diverse laboratory and clinical research responsibilities.
Part-time, limited appointment, may convert to career.
Hourly salary range: 30.12 – 35.92
Required:
- Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment and supplies
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with multiple individuals
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to switch focus as needed
- Attention to detail for accurate data entry and analysis
- Ability to learn and adapt to new laboratory techniques and new lab equipment, as needed
- Ability to work according to schedule and to coordinate work with other lab staff
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently, organize, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized working area
Preferred:
- Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience or related field.
