The Director of Perioperative Services, West Valley Campus is a strategic and operational leader and is responsible for the fiscal, human resources, clinical and quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, materials management, and efficient operations of UCLA West Valley Hospital Main Operating Rooms, Pre-op & Post Anesthesia Care Units, SPD Areas and GI Procedural Area.
The Director of Perioperative Services, West Valley Campus will also serve as a key liaison between medical staff, hospital administration, and the WH ASC joint venture partners. The Director will oversee and manage all UCLA Health employees at the West Hills ASC Joint Venture and may serve on relevant governing body and medical executive committees representing UCLA Health as appointed by UCLA Health.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Perioperative Services of UCLA Health, the Director of Perioperative services West Valley Campus is expected to be self- directed using appropriate judgment applying standards and policies as well as Human Resources.
The director also is aligned with the Department of Nursing through a matrixed reporting structure to the Chief Nurse Executive.
Required:
- California RN license
- Bachelors and Masters Degree required, one of which must be in Nursing.
- Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative services and management (Additional ASC experience preferred)
- National certification such as CNOR, ANCC, or AONE, current or within first year.
- Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with Critical Thinking Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and knowledge of UCLA Health policies
- Skills in prioritizing
- Ability to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate
- Ability to inform and educate
- Knowledge of UCLA and Professional Standard
