The Department of Medicine is seeking a dynamic Project Policy Analyst to lead and support a broad portfolio of educational, research, and programmatic initiatives. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and executing program operations; coordinating strategic initiatives; overseeing budgets and grant activities; supervising staff; and ensuring compliance with UCLA, state, federal, and sponsor requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, trainees, institutional leaders, and external partners to advance program goals, manage complex projects, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced academic environment. We are looking for a highly organized, analytical, and proactive professional with exceptional communication skills, strong project management experience, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support the Department’s mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.
Annual salary range: $74,445.00 – $152,460.00
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Services, Medicine, Public Health, Public Policy, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work independently and also have interpersonal skills to work with teams.
- Exceptional writing skills to produce a wide range of professional documents, scholarly publications, educational materials, and program deliverables
- Experience communicating effectively and professionally and working with a variety of internal and external partners, including interdisciplinary collaborators, UCLA administrators, outside funders, policy makers, and community representatives.
- Strong organizational skills to successfully work on and track complex programs involving short deadlines and multiple tasks, in coordination with multiple teams to achieve program/project mission and goals.
- Working knowledge of program/project development, evaluation, digital health initiatives, educational program development, creating datasets, financial management and reporting, research principles including CITI training, grant writing and proposal submission, University procedures and policies, program/project-related federal and state regulations.
- Ability to seek out and learn new policies, procedures, and software to advance the mission of the program/project.
- Ability to train new program/project managers and other staff within and external to the unit.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Knowledge of digital health, healthcare innovation, and interdisciplinary program development.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate medical, policy and administrative information in Chinese and English.
