- Possess and maintain current certification: Guard Card, Chemical Agent, California Driver’s License, BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only),
- Possess Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Course (POST) certification.
- Knowledge and experience with team leadership and project management.
- Knowledge of security access control, alarm systems, and CCTV.
- Knowledge and experience with physical security site assessments.
- Working knowledge and understanding of all program operational policies and procedures.
- Skill in operating computer dispatch system, and handling routine maintenance of same.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a flexible work schedule and a history of excellent work attendance.
- Skill in interacting diplomatically with the public in a high volume, continuous public contact setting.
- Skill in word processing using Windows based software including Excel spreadsheets/graphs required. Additionally, the ability to edit and update logs, files, and documents.
- Ability to identify and use resources to solve problems and provide more efficient service.
- Ability to see aspects of public relations in all facets of the job and the ability to understand the effects of actions on the entire organization.
- Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly, using correct English to communicate with public and department personnel in a concise and informative manner.
- Ability to prioritize and disseminate information quickly and accurately, and to act on such information.
- Demonstrated ability to write using appropriate grammar and vocabulary to review and edit incident reports, and assist in revising operational procedures.
- Skill in operating two way radio equipment, and routine maintenance of same.
- Ability to effectively operate various forms of alarm equipment, and handle routine maintenance of same.
- General knowledge of basic medical and law enforcement terminology.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with security personnel, police officers, and Medical Center, RNPH, and Medical Plaza employees.
- Physical ability to handle various interventive incidents, including patient restraints and violent subjects.
