The Justice in Criminal Neuropsychology (JCN) Program and Conservatorship Assessment Training (CAT) Team at Semel Institute are seeking a skilled Psychologist 2 (50% Part-Time) to join a dynamic forensic and clinical training environment. This role offers the opportunity to conduct comprehensive clinical and forensic evaluations, integrating medical, psychiatric, legal, and collateral data to inform high-impact diagnostic and competency determinations. The Psychologist will administer and interpret a broad range of standardized psychological and forensic measures, prepare clear and defensible medico-legal reports, and develop evidence-based recommendations related to competency, conservatorship, and other court-referred matters.
In addition to direct clinical service, the incumbent will provide structured supervision and mentorship to neuropsychology externs and fellows, contributing to the advancement of training in forensic assessment, neurodevelopment, and professional report writing. This position requires professional agility, including participation in interdisciplinary consultation, court-related activities, record review, and follow-up evaluations. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful clinician with strong analytical writing skills who thrives at the intersection of psychology, law, and education.
Annual range: $133,110.00-$175,559.04
Required:
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Current, active license to practice Psychology in the State of California
- Demonstrated experience conducting neuropsychological or psychological assessments with adult populations.
- Ability to produce clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation and reports.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to comply with University, Health System, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Professional flexibility to meet clinical, training, and operational needs.
Preferred:
- Completion of two years of formal postdoctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology or equivalent specialized training.
- Completion of postdoctoral training in Forensic Psychology.
- Experience conducting forensic, competency, or conservatorship-related evaluations.
- Experience supervising and training doctoral-level trainees in clinical neuropsychological assessment.
- Two or more years of clinical and/or scientific expertise working with complex psychiatric, neurologic, or justice-involved populations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing integrate clinical or medico-legal reports.
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex cases.
