The Semel Institute is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support programmatic operations. This role serves as a key point of coordination with clinicians, legal partners, community agencies, and the Office of the Public Guardian, supporting scheduling, communications, and program operations. Responsibilities include managing calendars, coordinating meetings and clinical cases, supporting grant and program activities, assisting with budget-related processes, tracking professional effort, and overseeing logistics for conferences and presentations. The position plays an integral role in ensuring smooth collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
Hourly range: $30.36-$43.49
Required:
- Skill in managing and administering business activities in highly complex, clinically, teaching, and research oriented environment
- Ability to develop new program/services as delineated in the UCLA-JCN/OPG affiliation agreementz
- Strong financial skills and knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Skill using Microsoft Office software
- Skill using UCLA business software
- Skill in analyzing information, problems, procedures, and situations, on a meta-level to define problem or objective, identify relevant concerns/factors, and identify patterns
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, parents, outside
- vendors, and OPG managers and staff
- Skill in negotiating and integrating information from a variety of services
- Ability to negotiate and work as part of a team with related departments to accomplish service goals
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with University policies and procedures
