- Train and supervise clinical psychology PhD practicum students on conducting phone screenings and eligibility assessments (SCID, BPRS, SANS, diagnostic timelines, DUPs).
- Train and supervise clinical psychology PhD practicum students on writing intake reports and teach the students how to obtain and interpret medical records.
- Lead weekly meetings with practicum students regarding case reviews and community liaison efforts while having knowledge and managing all referral cases assigned to the practicum students.
- Supervise undergraduate volunteers in clinic outreach efforts and lead biweekly meetings.
- Manage clinic social media accounts and recruitment campaigns.
- Regularly visit local psychiatric hospitals and clinics to keep them informed of our criteria for referrals and our clinical care opportunities.
- Manage the clinic referral database and generate monthly reports analyzing data collected from the database.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to administer research measures of psychiatric symptoms and everyday functioning carefully and effectively to psychiatric patients is required.
- Position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact with individuals who have psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, their family members, and healthy comparison subjects from diverse backgrounds and ages, and to effectively interact with co-workers and an interdisciplinary professional staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a research team
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, consent, and schedule research subjects for diagnostic screening
- Demonstrated ability to carefully maintain research records
- Demonstrated ability to use personal computer (PC) software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), and CareConnect.
- Proven highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to bring assignments to completion in a timely manner, to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines, and to maintain a calm demeanor during the course of busy research program days are required.
- Ability to go to multiple sites in LA area to complete study activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field is preferred and a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Prior research training in use of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 (SCID) is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in training clinical psychology PhD practicum students to complete diagnostic interviews is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
