Join Dr. Scumpia’s research team in the UCLA Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology, as a Lab Assistant supporting innovative clinical and translational studies focused on skin health and disease. In this dynamic role, you’ll help identify and engage study participants, obtain informed consent, and capture high-quality skin images using photography and reflectance microscopy.
You’ll also assist physicians with skin biopsies, process tissue samples for advanced imaging or single-cell analysis, and ensure meticulous data organization and record-keeping. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge dermatology research while gaining valuable experience in both clinical care and laboratory techniques in a collaborative, academic environment.
Salary: $19.90 – $23.04/hour
- Ability to write legible using correct spelling to record technical lab results
- Ability to communicate effectively and with mutual respect with co-workers, and other staff
- Ability to work cooperatively with other team members to maintain smooth workflow.
