Join our Venice Family Clinic team and use your expertise to make a difference in the community as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1). Under the guidance and supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, the CPT will assist in the day-to-day operations and:
- Perform phlebotomy on patients in an outpatient setting.
- Calibrate POC instruments such as glucometers, hemoglobin analyzers, Urinalysis, etc.
- Process hematocrits, Rua’s, card pregnancy tests, etc.
- Maintain logs for tests requested and received—process specimens for other sites.
- Maintain laboratory supplies at an appropriate level.
- Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.
- Travel to other Venice Family Clinic Locations within LA County as needed for coverage.
Salary Range: $25.62 – $31.86
- Phlebotomy certification from the State of California.
- Demonstrated phlebotomy experience with adults and children in a doctor’s office or medical clinic setting.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients from diverse educational, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, medical terminology, and Clinical Lab test names.
- Ability to work in a fast paced setting with accurately and attention to details.
- Skill in using computers and printers.
- Skill in reading and writing English to understand technical protocols/procedures and to write accurate patient data information.
