The RADCO Research Associate will assist in organizing and managing project neuroimaging data.
A. Conduct day-to-day activities of the project.
a. Work closely with the staff research lead for this project and the faculty lead of the neuroimaging core as well as with other members of the research team at UCLA
b. Responsible for data entry and organizing spreadsheets
c. Coordinate with the lab manager to place supply orders
d. Assist investigators in the preparation of diagrams, posters, and papers
e. Other clerical activities
B. Provide Support for the Neuroimaging Data Core
a. Score data and enter into database
b. Assist in organizing data in the database for analysis
c. Maintain existing database
d. Provide MRI scanning support for the research team
1. Ability to perform tasks in an efficient, well-organized and timely manner with a minimum level of supervision and frequent changes in priorities
and deadlines.
2. Skill in setting priorities, follow through on assigned tasks and adhering to deadlines.
3. Good working knowledge of UNIX operating system.
4. Ability to work in a team.
5. Skill in working independently with minimal supervision.
6. Ability to assess situations and problem solve using own judgment.
7. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with staff, researchers, and research subjects at various organizational, cultural and
educational levels.
8. Computer skills including word processing, email systems, spreadsheets, data entry, database maintenance, including the ability to enter data
and maintain study records.
9. Some experience in neuroimaging tools such as FSL, SPM, AFNI, or Freesurfer preferred
10.Some experience in MATLAB, BASH or R preferred
9. bachelor’s degree preferred
