The Department of UCLA Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology is seeking a Staff Research Associate 2 to support thee Translational Imaging Division and its multidisciplinary cancer research programs. This role serves as a key laboratory operations lead, overseeing daily lab activities, regulatory compliance, inventory management, and research support across chemistry, tissue culture, imaging, and translational research laboratories.
In this role, you will contribute to a wide range of molecular biology and biochemical experiments, including PCR, cloning, western blotting, mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and small animal studies. Responsibilities also include supporting imaging and therapeutic development projects, maintaining compliance with UCLA Environmental Health & Safety and state regulations, and collaborating closely with faculty, postdoctoral scholars, students, and research staff to ensure efficient and compliant laboratory operations.
Hourly range: $31.23-$50.24
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience or training.
- Working knowledge of EHS Safety and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Radiation Safety, Biosafety.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Biosafety procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lab Safety , Research Safety and Animal Welfare Administration (RSAWA) (formerly OARO)/DLAM procedures.
- Ability to maintain lab and management of equipment/procurement.
- Knowledge of vivarium procedures and regulations.
- Serve on the Research Allocation Committee (RAC) for Cyclotron.
- Maintains good working relationships with physicians, principal investigators, co-workers, students, and other departments.
- Ability to respond calmly and efficiently during a crisis and/or emergency situation.
- Knowledge and ability to handle radioactive probes and materials.
- Working knowledge of UCLA and California State Department of Public Health Radiation Safety guidelines and regulations.

- First Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board | NMTCB License / Certification
- American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists
- Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine
