The incumbent is responsible for gathering requirements and designing, building, and maintaining applications and databases that support reporting and data submissions for enterprise quality initiatives and collaborative programs. This role brings deep expertise in healthcare data and Large Language Models (LLMs)/Generative AI to develop innovative data solutions that enhance workflow efficiency, decision‑making, and clinical outcomes.
The incumbent works across structured and unstructured data, develops and evaluates robust machine learning models, and implements LLM‑powered workflows with a strong emphasis on safety, privacy, regulatory compliance, and bias mitigation. This role partners closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, high‑impact solutions.
The incumbent is expected to lead complex projects focused on workflow automation, intelligent automation, and optimization of data structures. Success in this role requires strong intellectual curiosity, a passion for solving complex technical challenges, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The incumbent consistently leverages technology to promote efficient, reliable, and future‑ready work systems.

Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is 95,400 – $208,300 annually. . The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately between the start and midpoint.
Education
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (required)
- PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field (preferred)
Experience
- 6+ years using Python and AI/ML tools, including LLMs and RAG frameworks
- 4+ years of prompt engineering applied to healthcare workflow automation
- 3+ years supporting AI‑enabled analytics or automation using structured and unstructured data
- 2+ years in ML model development lifecycles, data preparation, and model evaluation
- 2+ years translating complex business needs into technical and analytical solutions
- Experience with AI data governance, privacy, and security in healthcare (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of AI, machine learning, NLP, and advanced analytics concepts
- Advanced proficiency in Python, R, Tableau, Excel, and related analytics tools
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to rapidly learn and apply emerging AI technologies
- Teaching or mentoring experience supporting junior analysts
- Understanding of Epic or other EMR data structures (preferred)
