UCLA Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nutrition Manager at the UCLA West Valley Medical Center. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by combining clinical expertise with leadership and operational management in a dynamic healthcare setting.
In this role, you will oversee the daily operations and performance of clinical nutrition services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across a variety of populations. You will provide direct supervision to a team of registered dietitians, diet technicians, and diet assistants; managing schedules and assignments, supporting recruitment and onboarding efforts, and leading staff training and development initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing daily clinical nutrition operations, staffing, and workflow

Providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities

Leading and participating in RD/DTR/patient services team meetings

Partnering with interdisciplinary leadership on policy development and quality improvement initiatives

Ensuring team compliance with departmental goals and healthcare standards

Salary Range: $92,600.00-$202,200.00 Annually
- Current and valid Registered Dietitian license with the State of California.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian.
- Ability to provide excellent leadership skills including communication, scheduling, problem solving, survey readiness, project management, HR files compliance and more.
- Ability to analyze patient concerns and seek solutions satisfactory to the patient in the Dept of Nutrition.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of nutrition care for varying age groups.
- Ability to adapt procedures for patient education level, cultural practice, psycho-social and economic status.
- Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a specific area of dietetics such as pediatrics, transplant, cardiology, med/surg, renal, liver, critical care and oncology.
- Ability to apply principles of medical nutrition therapy, food service and sanitation.
- Ability to evaluate appropriateness of current nutrition regimen and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to assess patient calorie, protein and micronutrient needs based on the Standards of Nutrition Practice and specialty Guidelines.
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate written and verbal communication skills; must be an effective communicator when interacting with hospital administration, medical, nursing, allied health professionals, and food service staff.
