Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Sr. LVN is responsible for coordinating patient flow, assisting the lead LVN to adjust medical assistant/LVN staffing, and performing associated nursing services. This includes checking in patients, interviewing patients, taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, completing intake questionnaire with patients or family members, recording services in patient charts, uploading scans. The Sr. LVN will Interact with staff, patients, faculty, and residents to maximize patient care, patient satisfaction, and physician satisfaction. Administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinate and monitor LVN/medical assistant staff, adjust staffing on daily basis to maintain efficient operations, ensure that Joint Commission standards are always maintained, monitor the medical staff and ensure maintenance and upkeep of the facility, maintaining stock of clinical supplies, distributing mail and stocking exam rooms. You are responsible for participating in the Quality Assurance process.
Salary Range: $34.61 – $45.66/Hourly
Required:
- Experience working with neurological patient population.
- Working knowledge of outpatient practice operations.
- Excellent blood withdrawal skills.
- Current California LVN license.
- Possession of current BCLS certification.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
- Working knowledge of abnormal laboratory values.
- Ability to recognize and intervene in emergency situations.
- Skill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform clinical procedures and physical examinations.
- Ability to effectively elicit pertinent clinical information such as presenting complaints from patients and referring professional, and make appropriate assignments based on established guidelines.
- Ability to accept direction from administration and act promptly.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians and administrators.
- Skill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretion.
- Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and general public in a high volume, public setting.
- Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and responds to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain composure in the face of resistance, indifference and hostility.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgment.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of outpatient practice operations
- Working knowledge of UC patient registration system, appointment scheduling system and order entry system.
- Spanish speaking skills
