Join our team as a Clinical Manager for the Department of Ophthalmology’s Cornea and Uveitis clinic, where you’ll play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting world-class patient care. In partnership with the Clinic Director and Division Chief, you’ll help shape the day-to-day experience for patients and staff while ensuring seamless coordination across clinical, administrative, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Oversee day-to-day clinic functions, providing leadership to all staff
- Assist physicians, fellows, residents, and optometrists by ensuring their administrative and technical needs are met efficiently
- Manage coordination of imaging and diagnostic procedures within the divisions
- Develop and maintain weekly staffing schedules
- Provide personalized support and coordination for VIP patients and persons of interest as needed
- Track staff performance, offer feedback, and conduct timely evaluations to support growth and accountability
- Ensure all exam rooms and diagnostic areas are fully stocked and equipment is operating properly
- Maintain and revise departmental protocols and procedures, offering guidance to promote CICARE-aligned service excellence
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience supervising staff.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology of visual systems.
- Familiarity with signs and symptoms of various ophthalmic problems to answer patient-related questions and triage calls when urgent evaluation is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and physicians to promote comfortable, cooperative and effective working relationships with patients, physicians and staff.
- Familiarity with computerized patient appointment scheduling system.
- Ability to organize work schedules for continuous coverage.
- Flexibility in adapting to new assignments.
- Skill in organizing work systems and prioritizing work.
- Ability to collaborate with leadership in problem solving and implementing new and continuing patient care systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Availability to work after hours as needed.
- Certification as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience providing technical support in Ophthalmology practice.
