Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA (NPH) is among the world’s “destination” centers for care, research and education in the fields of mental health, developmental disabilities and neurology.

NPH offers the opportunity to work with patients of all ages in a multitude of settings, from inpatient to outpatient. With our new home in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center building, our hospital features all-private rooms and a spacious outdoor terrace to blend therapeutic healing with personal quiet.

Introduce yourself and your role.

Communicate what you are going to do, how long it is going to take, and how it will impact the patient.

Ask permission before examining the patient and anticipate patient and/or family needs, questions or concerns.

Respond to patient and/or family questions and requests with immediacy.

Exit courteously and/or with an explanation of what will come next (or when you will be back to check on them).
