Job DutiesUnder general supervision of the Director, the Analyst acts as a member of the Center's executive team to participate in strategic planning, collect and analyze administrative data, and prepare summary reports. Research and analyze policy implications, establish internal procedures, and recommend related administrative actions in consultation with General Internal Medicine and other UCLA administrative offices. Manage the Center's office operation and the logistic support of special projects by analyzing and reporting about budget and human resource status and project impact, preparing fund development plans, modifying physical facilities to meet changing program needs, and supervising support staff. Oversee the Center's public communication to ensure current and accurate public information through collaboration with Health System Marketing and Media Relations offices as well as the maintenance of Center websites.
Job QualificationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to compile and study complex data, and summarize information into clear and succinct reports as references for the purpose of organizational planning and development. Experience in an academic medical center setting with the ability to study, interpret, and apply administrative principles, practices, and techniques to the planning and execution of projects. Knowledge of the applicable UC policies and procedures governing accounting, purchasing, travel, administrative computing, and other areas related to the responsibilities of the position. Ability to analyze financial data, prepare budget projections, present fiscal reports, establish program priorities based on budget analysis, and adapt program objectives to budgetary changes. Knowledge of the applicable UC policies and procedures governing staff personnel regarding recruitment, appointment, compensation, benefits, training, evaluation and discipline. Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining clear understanding about institutional mission. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to effectively and professionally interact with people with varying ranking and status using diplomacy, resourcefulness, good judgment, understanding, and persuasion. Demonstrated ability to work with a team of peers to maintain courteous and productive professional relationship to achieve common goals. Bilingual language skills to communicate fluently in English and Chinese with accurate grammar in professional styles in writing and in conversation. Flexibility and adaptability in assuming new tasks that require new skill sets and knowledge as well as varying levels of responsibilities. Technical skills to utilize a range of internet and website management tools to edit, write, and post content materials and check viewer statistics. College level course work in social sciences and health service related topics to maintain current knowledge about issues and trends related to healthcare practices in the U.S.
